Can you share more about yourself and what you are doing?

Hi, I’m Maite and I live in Luxemburg. I’m an online fitness coach helping girls to achieve their true potential. I am also a proud WBFF Pro Athlete in the Bikini Fitness category. I quit my 9-5 years ago to finally embrace my passion (health & fitness) and build a business around it to help others. My focus in life is to get the right mindset and become the best version of myself, and that’s exactly what I share with my community!

When did your journey start? Was there a certain event or situation after which you found your passion for fitness and decided this was your path?

I started doing fitness in 2013 after I felt I couldn’t continue feeling unhealthy inside and out, and decided to do something about it. Since day one in the gym, and the feeling I had after my first session, I was hooked! After experiencing many ups and downs, including a bad coach, I decided to make it my mission to prevent as many girls as possible to avoid being in the same situation.

Tell us more about your workouts and training—what does your routine look like?

My training routine is adapted to what I love: building muscle and feeling athletic. Although aesthetics are very important to me, especially around a contest, I mainly work towards performance and optimal execution. Mobility is also a big part of my daily sessions. I train between 3-5 times a week, depending on which phase I’m currently in and the amount of workload I have in my business.

Do you follow a specific diet? Favorite treat meal?

I do follow a diet all year round, whether it’s in a calorie deficit (fat loss) or calorie surplus (muscle building) phase. I am a big advocate of flexible dieting, which means tracking your calories 90% of the time and not excluding any foods (almost) from my diet. The main focus stays on healthy and unprocessed foods but soul food is a big part of feeling balanced while working towards your goals. My biggest weaknesses are sushi and donuts!

What advice can you give to young girls and women who are maybe dealing with a negative self-image or lack of confidence?

Great question. It’s all about recognizing that whatever spot you’re in right now, it’s just a temporary situation. You can set the right mindset at any time and work on it by reading books, meditating, getting to know yourself, all which will build up self-confidence and will in turn resolve many issues related to negative self image. In life, not everyday is perfect and there will always be rocks in your path, but the key is to make the best out of every situation, no matter how bad or good it is. The rest will follow, guaranteed!

How has fitness and health changed your life?

A complete 180. It taught me discipline, confidence, the principle of consistency and to work hard for what you want in life. This is literally the opposite of who I was as a teenager (chaotic), but my guess is that the fitness lifestyle revealed who I really was all along. It also brought me amazing opportunities like sponsorships, fitness modelling gigs and the ability to create and scale my coaching business around it.

Fun question: What color bikini were you wearing when you won your WBFF Pro Bikini category in Verona, Italy?

RED. Although not in my top 3 of favorite colors, it brought me luck on stage and it seems like it was a good decision.

What are your favorite Women’s Best supplement and nutrition products? When do you use them and why?

Without a doubt, the Collagen Peptides. My go-to every morning in my coffee. It supports my joints, bones, and makes for healthy skin & hair. I am also a huge fan of the Night Casein powder (vanilla flavor) for baking fit recipes like my world famous pudding-oats!

What is your favorite Women’s Best collection, in what color and why?

That would be the Power collection in RED (again). The combination of high support and fiery color makes me feel unstoppable during my workouts!

Lastly, you decided to collab with Women’s Best. Why did you choose to be part of the community?

The day Women’s Best reached out to me, I was so thrilled! This is the kind of partnership I always dreamed of! Our brands align perfectly, in that we both are aiming towards empowering women. As an athlete, I am also very proud to be able to represent the best quality products to my community as well as to my clients. A big bonus is the company culture and very avant-garde mindset. What more could one ask for?
